Making opera accessible to all
Thrapston Plaza Opera
Northamptonshire's Opera Company
Meet Thrapston Plaza Opera
Since 2010, Thrapston Plaza Opera has been putting on large scale operas
sung in English with live orchestral accompaniment.
The aim is to present a good quality production for and involving
the local community.
Open auditions are held in the Plaza every year to select the main roles with soloists coming from the local area, Birmingham, Peterborough, London, Cambridge and the Music Colleges.
The chorus is not auditioned and is open to everyone.
Chorus members who come from Thrapston and beyond rehearse in the St.James' Church Hall from 7.30 - 9.30pm on Tuesday evenings from September to February.

Our aim is to offer audiences a chance to experience grand opera in Thrapston at affordable prices.
